@W139
WHYNOT #3 is a three day dance festival that brings you -- next to dance and choreography -- art installations, short films, a morning performance, afternoon workshop and late night party. WhyNot: moving, movement and being moved.
This year Festival WhyNot opend on Friday with a performance by Ola Maciejewska inspired by the work and designs of dance pioneer Loie Fuller. The Friday program continued with the enchanting choreography Soft Target by Margrét Sara Gudjónsdóttir. On Saturday we again started at 8 p.m. with the second performance of Loie Fuller. After that Stechmann & Van Rooij's The Critical Piece is shown, as well as a Duet by Marieke Dermul & Tamar Blom, dance improvisation, live music and a late night party with DJ Alec Smart. Sunday morning started with a laidback brunch provided by De Bakkerswinkel. After that, the public try out of fitting, a new performance by Cie. Willi Dorner, was shown. The Sunday was completed with a workshop by Cie. Willie Dorner and an aftertalk with a.o. Tim Voss, Willi Dorner, Ola Maciejewska.
Throughout the whole weekend Festival WhyNot offers a film program (in collaboration with Cinedans) and ongoing installations by Chris Kabel and Jennifer Townley.
